This is it! Lucky Peach Issue #1. I don’t think you can order it from them anymore, but I do believe it’s on ebay for as cheap as $169.99! This is still my favorite issue of the first four.  Great article on the creation of instant ramen, plus a full lesson on the different varieties of ramen found all over Japan.  I went to the biggest Asian grocery store in nearby Echo Park and checked out some of their instant ramen and brought a few home to sample. Honestly, this issue is so awesome! There’s even a fun piece with Dave Chang, Anthony Bourdain, and Wylie Dufresne discussing the food mediocrity of their respected homelands.
